Salt and Sanctuary - 12 - Ziggurat of Dust, The Dried King, Dart Brand

Hey everyone!

Looking to scratch that Souls itch until Dark Souls III? Look no further! I have had a blast playing Salt and Sanctuary, the newest game from SKA Studios. A 2D, combat-heavy action/adventure game with difficulty rivaling some of those games we know and love such as Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

Incredible environments, loot galore, intricate puzzles, and creative enemies and bosses make this one of my favorite games of 2016 and I couldn't help but share.

This is not a blind Let's Play. I have played through the game once already and I am bringing you a walkthrough/review of the gameplay from my own, hopefully unique perspective.

Today, we explore the pyramid like Ziggurat of Dust, go toe-to-toe with the Dried King, and obtain the Dart Brand (long jump) ability. Is the old sorcerer right? Is this island the demon?

But it here (PS4 only):!/en-u...

A doomed sailor is shipwrecked on an uncharted island. In fog-shrouded valleys, where grinning, mossy corpses cling to rusted arms, shambling figures begin to stir. Beneath crumbling, salt-worn structures, labyrinthine passageways lead to unspeakable evil, long forgotten by man.

Salt and Sanctuary seamlessly combines fast, brutal, and complex 2D combat with richly developed RPG mechanics. Discover, craft, and upgrade over 600 weapons, armor pieces, spells, and items as you explore a cursed realm of forgotten cities, blood-soaked dungeons, desecrated monuments, and the fallen lords they once celebrated.

From Ska Studios, the award-winning indie studio behind a long list of stylistic, visceral, and brutally executed action titles that includes The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, and Charlie Murder, comes Salt and Sanctuary, the studio’s most ambitious title to date.

LOL @ 32:44! Great guide bro

You should have let you died to get the bloody writ for the oat of the betrayer creed

I like this guy. He has a pleasing narrative style, no swearing or irreverence

Hey, Blue...
Might be wrong, but I guess you have to die for sanctuary guardians after desecrating an altar, in order to receive the bloody writ.

godoy oboy

I missed both of the second encounters with the sage and the theif on my first playthrough somehow, now I know where to go on my next character! Either way, i'm quite enjoying this playthrough thus far, keep it up!

I know this is old but you missed the best light armorset in the game. It's in that place with the lanternhead monsters T before the entrance of the Zigurat.

Dark Angel

too bad you don't have the desire to use magic ... I played as a mage character and he is incredibly powerful ... you kill everything from afar in a few hits and you use spells only in late game ... you will always have enough focus ... no worries about that

I am somehow missing the brand that reveals these walls. I have the brand that gets rid of the red walls, but not the brand that reveals the hidden ones.

How come I didn't run in to 2 characters like you did?

lol runs all the way back through the Ziggurat to a sanctuary when he could have just ran to the shore to the right.....lololol
