no I haven't. only 556 for the first 1000 rounds is what factory says. after that then I will try 223. but gun is still working perfectly

eighty6

gun work flawlessly since I got it back from the manufacture

Live it up and won’t have one single problem

FYI, my Extar MK2 was having problems like that occasionally while using 55 grain ammo, I switched to 62 grain ammo and have had no more problems.

I would like to know where you got the meg cover from and what kind of grip is that? If you don't mind me asking!

My trigger mechanism broke the first day out after 26-30 rounds. Extar sent me just the piece that broke ( funny they knew what it was) and that was it. I’m thinking of a drop in trigger if it’ll work, I’m not putting that plastic crap back in.

I received the gun back from the manufacturer and now the gun works flawlessly. also there was a note attached saying that 223 ammo is not recommended for the first 1000-2000 rounds use 556 only. they did not specify exactly what was the cause of the feeding problem but it sounds like a gas block issues. If you want to use 223 ammo then have a gunsmith adjust your gas block to cycle 223 rounds and I'm sure that will work as well because 223 is a bit cheaper than 556

Try polishing the chamber. It worked for my kel tec plr16 when I began to shoot that laqur shit wolf ammo and it eats any kind of ammo I put in it now with no problem even when I rapid fire and let the 10th round seat in the chamber for a little it still cycles with no problems.

I've owed my extar for a little over a yr now and I've only had 1 FTE (using 223 ammo) that was in the first 2hundred rounds. I'm currently creeping up on 2000 rounds and I've yet to have another malfunction. Only thing I did was switch over to 556 which I should have been using from the beginning. Its a great gun. Functions flawlessly now.

My Extar is 2 years old. Haven't shot it much, probably less than 1,000 rounds. However, just now starting to have failure to fire and failure to eject issues. Example: Known good 20 round mag with 19 rounds, it will fire first round, eject, feed next round, but not fire. I've been told the issue is with the bolt carry group. Are you still having these types of problems?

eighty6

Thanks man for the info. I emailed extar and they reply to send the gun back to the factory free of charge. If you're having this issue there is a recall pertaining this problem. I think the gun is having a gas block issue that needs adjusting but we will see.

brycewise

did you get the problems straightened out? If so how has it been since?

Dickey Moore

did you shoot 223 right after you got this gun back

John Smith

Is the gas back on that not adjustable? Could you not have dialed the gas pressure back a little bit? Usually stuck cases are a result of too much gas system pressure from higher pressure ammunition or from ammunition that has a longer broader pressure curve which leads to higher gas port pressures.

Mr. Eighty6killa do you mind sharing the email cause I am having the same feeding problem an I can't find no one to contact
